Turning Point USA CEO and Conservative Podcaster to Discuss Tensions Over Charlie Kirk Assassination Theories
Phoenix, Arizona | December 15, 2025 - Erika Kirk, widow of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk and current CEO of Turning Point USA, announced Sunday that she will hold a private, in-person meeting with podcaster Candace Owens on Monday, December 15, in an effort to address weeks of public tensions stemming from Owens' conspiracy theories about her late husband's death.
In a post on X, Kirk wrote: "Candace Owens and I are meeting for a private, in-person discussion on Monday, December 15. @RealCandaceO and I have agreed that public discussions, livestreams, and tweets are on hold until after this meeting. I look forward to a productive conversation. Thank you."

Owens responded briefly on X, stating: "I am very much looking forward to this discussion."
The announcement comes after escalating online exchanges and follows Kirk's recent appearance at a CBS News town hall moderated by editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, where she directly urged Owens and others spreading unsubstantiated claims to "stop." During the town hall, Kirk expressed frustration over the emotional toll of conspiracy theories surrounding Charlie Kirk's September 10 assassination at Utah Valley University.
Owens, a former Turning Point USA employee who once described her relationship with Charlie Kirk as "brother and sister," has promoted various theories on her podcast, including suggestions of involvement by TPUSA insiders, financial irregularities at the organization, and broader plots. These claims have been repeatedly denied by TPUSA, and the Treasury Department confirmed last week that no tax-exempt entities under Kirk's oversight are under IRS investigation.

The planned meeting replaces a previously scheduled TPUSA livestream intended to rebut Owens' allegations, which was postponed following Kirk's announcement. Sources indicate the discussion aims to move the conversation offline in hopes of reducing public speculation and harassment directed at Kirk and her family during her grieving process.
Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was killed by a lone gunman, Tyler Robinson, who has been charged with aggravated murder. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
Neither side has disclosed the location or further details of the meeting, and both have committed to a temporary pause on public commentary until afterward. Observers in conservative circles are watching closely to see if the private talks will resolve the rift or lead to further developments.
