Biden Administration Fully Supports Hormone Therapy for Trans Kids

The Biden administration has made it clear that they are fully supportive of hormone therapy for transgender children. Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine recently announced that “gender-affirming” treatment of transgender kids is supported “at the highest levels” of the Biden administration.

The White House released a statement saying, “Today, the Biden Administration announced new actions to support the mental health of transgender children, remove barriers that transgender individuals face in accessing health care and other services, and ensure that all people can live their lives free from discrimination.”

The executive order signed by President Joe Biden calls on the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to clarify that federally funded programs cannot offer conversion therapy. HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra also confirmed that the Biden administration supports using taxpayer dollars to cover gender-affirming surgeries for minors.

In addition, the administration has allocated roughly $17 million to studies to determine the dangers and uncertainties of puberty blockers and hormone treatments for trans youth. The claims to inform decisions about access to gender-affirming care for young people.

The Biden administration's commitment to supporting pruberty blockers and trans surgeries is unlike previous administration. Many Americans believe this is sickening to see an administration to back these procedures with children.
