Aries Spears Faced Backlash For His Comments About Lizzo

Aries Spears went on a podcast and talked about Lizzo being overweight and her appearance being a distraction from her music.

Aries Spears appeared on the podcast Art of Dialogue. After the host of the show commented saying that Lizzo writes good music, Aries responded “I can’t get past the fact that she looks like a s**t emoji. She got a very pretty face but she keeps showing off her body, like come on man. I am sorry like I am not the most in shape person in the world but I still, you know, when you are funny and you have got swagger and confidence and decent looking, I mean, at least handsome, you get pu**y.
He went on “When a woman is built like a plate of mashed potatoes, it is trouble. You know what kills me about women? It is the hypocrisy and the contradiction, “yes queen, slay queen,” f**k diabetes, f**k heart problems cholesterol. You all claim womanhood and about sisterhood and support for your sister, but if you really cared, why wouldn’t you go “black girl, we love you, we love your confidence boo boo, but, this ain’t it.”
Aries continued by saying “That’s the real love. You will all jump on me for making jokes but you won’t be real and go “sister, it’s the treadmill time.”
The social media backlash was swift. The clip of Aries went viral and many viewers slammed the comedian for his criticism of Lizzo.
Meg Thee Stallion along with several Lizzo fans made statements to support her. Lizzo didn’t make a comment but Aries did respond to the backlash. He took to his Instagram page and sais “What game r we playing? Ladies, keep it 100% what yall mad at?” He captioned the post “I’m here for all the smoke cause truth finds it’s way thru the bulls**t so let’s GO!!’
