Elon Musk gets the last laugh at Kathy Griffin as she get banned on Twitter for impersonation

Kathy Griffin is the latest victim of Elon Musk's Twitter takeover, as her account was suspended on Sunday.


62-year old Griffin changed her profile name to Musk, but it seems as if she was banned from the site soon after.


Although her verified profile said "@kathygriffin" political comedian Kathy Griffin's display name was changed to "Elon Musk" in contravention of Twitter policy.


Since officially acquiring Twitter for $44 billion after months of legal wrangling, SpaceX founder Elon Musk has addressed fake accounts on the platform seriously, taking on the role of "Chief Tweet" Role.


Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended."


"Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue."
