Justice Clarence Thomas blocks Senator Graham’s testimony in Georgia investigation
On Monday, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas temporarily blocked Sen. Lindsey Graham’s testimony to a special grand jury that was investigating whether former President Donald Trump, along with others, tried to illegally influence the 2020 election.
Justice Clarence Thomas' order is meant to prevent Fulton County district attorney, Fani Willis, from compelling Sen Lindsey Graham to testify while the Supreme Court will decide whether to grant the senator's request for an extension of the proceedings.
Willis is facing a deadline of Thursday to provide reasons to the high court regarding why Graham should be required to answer questions from the grand jury. Lower courts ruled that he should testify.
Thomas acted alone.
