Lamar Jackson Emerges As Clear MVP Leader
In what could be a preview of the MVP race in 2022-23, Quarterback Lamar Jackson is off to a hot start for the Baltimore Ravens.
Through the first 3 games of the season, Jackson has thrown for 749 yards and 10 touchdowns, while also rushing for a whopping 243 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ravens are currently sitting atop their division, tied with the Cleveland Browns. If he can keep this up, he will certainly be a clear-cut winner for MVP honors at the end of the year.
Lamar leads the NFL in touchdown passes, and passer rating, and is currently tied for fourth in rushing yards.
What makes all this very interesting, is the fact that Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens could not come to a contract agreement, after reportedly turning down a five-year extension worth over $250 million, that left Lamar saying “Respectfully, I’m done talking about it,” reported by Jamison Hensley of ESPN.
The biggest question mark of the season is who will blink first, Lamar Jackson or the Baltimore Ravens and as of now it looks like the Ravens will have to buckle, if Jackson continues to play at this level.
