Sources say Trump could announce 2024 bid tonight in Ohio

Multiple sources report that Donald Trump has mentioned to several of his allies that he could announce a 2024 presidential run Monday night during a rally for Ohio Republican Senate candidate JD Vance.

Over the past two weeks, Trump has informally announced to several conservative leaders that he will be joining the race during his 8 p.m. appearance with Vance in Dayton, Ohio.

A Republican close to the president said Trump has been telling people he may announce his candidacy tonight, but it’s not definite.

However, it is not yet clear if the 76-year-old will actually follow through with this on the eve of an election in which Republicans are predicted to win control of the House and possibly the Senate.
