Wyoming To Introduce Legislation That Will Phase Out Electric Vehicles By 2035

Republican lawmakers in Wyoming have proposed a bill that would ban electric vehicles from the state until 2035, claiming the measure is necessary to protect the state’s oil and gas industries.

As of now, Wyoming is the first state to propose such a bill, this could be something that other conservative states follow.

Sponsors Sen. Jim Anderson and Sen. Brian Boner argue that electric vehicle technology is not yet up to par with combustion cars, so any solutions should be practical in real life before being implemented statewide.

The proposed bill has been met with criticism by environmental groups and clean energy advocates who cite its detrimental effects on carbon emissions.
